Buchanan, New York
Buchanan is a village in Westchester County, New York. It is located on the eastern shore of the Hudson River, approximately forty miles north of Midtown Manhattan. The village is within the Town of Cortlandt, but the two are governed separately. , the population was approximately 2,300. Buchanan is home to the now decommissioned Indian Point Energy Center. While it was operational, the IPEC was a three-unit nuclear power plant station that generated about 25 percent of New York City’s electrical power.
