Caroline is a town in Tompkins County, New York. The town is located approximately ten miles southeast of Ithaca and approximately forty miles northwest of Binghamton. The town covers fifty-five square miles. It is a mix of forestland, farmland, and small communities. The hamlets are Besemer, Brooktondale, Caroline Center, Slaterville Springs, Speedsville, West Slaterville, and White Church. , the town had a population of approximately 3,200. The main population area is Slaterville Springs.
