Cold Spring is a village in Putnam County, New York. It is inside the town of Philipstown. The scenic village sits on the eastern bank of the Hudson River, approximately 50 miles north of Manhattan. Cold Spring covers about two thirds of a square mile and has an estimated population of 2,100 (). The first settlers moved into the area around 1730. The downtown area has several intact 19th century structures.
