Conesus (pronounced ka-nee-shus) is a town in Livingston County, New York. Its name is derived from the native Seneca language. The definition is disputed. Some say it means “berry place” and some say it means “always beautiful.” Conesus is around forty miles south of Rochester. It is considered part of the Finger Lakes region.
