Ellenville is a village in Ulster County, New York. It is located in the Catskill Mountains around 100 miles northwest of Times Square in Manhattan. The village is located within the town of Wawarsing. It is the main population area of the town. Most town businesses and all town government offices are located in Ellenville. , the population was approximately 4,195.

The east-west New York State Route 52 and north-south U.S. Route 209 meet in Ellenville. Both of these routes have a 55-mph speed limit before entering the village. Upon entry into the village the speed limit is lowered to 30 mph, but motorists often fail to notice or fail to heed the new speed limit. This results in numerous speeding tickets.
