Traffic Tickets in Fayetteville

There are two traffic courts in Fayetteville, the Manlius Town Court and the Fayetteville Village Court. The Manlius Town Court has jurisdiction over legal matters occurring within the town but outside any of its villages (Fayetteville, Village of Manlius, and Minoa). Each village has its own justice court to handle its village matters. The village court is located within the Village Hall building on E. Genesee Street (NY-5).

The village’s main road is New York State Route 5 (Genesee Street). It runs east and west across the village. Taking this road west will bring you to New York State Route 92 (NYS-92), which in turn will lead you to downtown Syracuse and the highways therein. Heading east on NYS-5 will bring you to Chittenango. The village’s main north and south bound road is New York State Route 257 (Manlius Street). It meets NYS-5 in the village square.

Law enforcement services for the village are provided by the Manlius Police Department. They receive backup from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police. Any of the three can stop a motorist if there is probable cause of a traffic violation. Traffic stops can be conducted for various infractions. Speeding tickets are commonly issued as one enters the village and the speed limit drops to 30 mph.
