Fenton is a town in Broome County, New York. It is located just northeast of the City of Binghamton. The town used to be called Port Crane. It was renamed in honor of Reuben Fenton, who was a Governor of New York from 1865 to 1868. A hamlet within Fenton now goes by Port Crane. Other hamlets are North Fenton, Pleasant Hill, Quinneville, and Wyman Corner. Port Crane is where the town offices are located, including the town justice court., Fenton’s estimated population was 6,300.
