Grove is a small and rural town in Allegany County, New York., the town’s population was approximately 530. The town covers roughly thirty-four square miles. Grove was established in 1827 as “Church Tract”. It was renamed to “Grove” in 1828. The town is home to the Swain Ski Resort, the oldest operating ski resort in New York State. Allegany County is part of the Southern Tier region, one the most rural areas of New York State. The closest small city to Grove is Hornell, around twenty miles southeast. The large city of Buffalo is around eighty miles northwest.
Traffic Tickets in the Town of Grove
The New York State Police and the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department are responsible for citing motorists in Grove. Their traffic tickets are answerable to the Grove Town Court. Troopers and Sheriff's usually clock motorists for speeding along New York State Route 70 (NYS-70). NYS-70 enters town from the north boundary and runs south-east until it leaves town. NYS-70 brings motorists to the neighboring village of Canaseraga, in the Town of Burns. There are several county routes in Grove as well. County Route 16 (CR-16) and County Route 24(CR-24) serve the western part of town. Both run north-south. In the south-east corner of town, County Route 15A provides access to the Hamlet of Grove.
