Lyonsdale is a town in Lewis County, New York. It is on the western side of the Adirondack Mountains. The town is in a rural area of New York State, approximately 80 miles northeast of Syracuse and approximately 45 miles southeast of Watertown., the estimated population was 1,200. The Town of Lyonsdale encompasses seventy square miles. It was settled in 1819 and named after Caleb Lyons, an advocate of the creation of the Black River Canal. The town was formed in 1873.
