Montour Falls is a village in Schuyler County, New York. It is located just south of Seneca Lake, one of the elven Finger Lakes. The city of Elmira is approximately twenty miles south of the village and the city of Ithaca is approximately twenty-five miles east of the village. The village is mostly within the Town of Montour and a small portion is in the Town of Dix. , the village population was appproximately 1,727.

The busiest road in the village is New York State Route 14 (NYS-14). Through the village it is named Catherine Street. Taking Route 14 south from the village will bring you to Horseheads. Taking Route 14 north from the village will bring you to Watkins Glen. The busiest road going east from Route 14 is New York State Route 224 (Clawson Street). Taking NYS-224 east will bring you to the Village of Odessa. The busiest road going west from Route 14 is Steuben Street (County Route 16). Most traffic stops occur on the aforementioned roads. A common violation cited is speeding. As the roads enter the village, the speed limit is reduced from 55 mph to 30 mph.
