Orange is a large and rural town in Schuyler County, New York. It is considered part of the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier regions. It is roughly fifteen miles north of the small city of Corning., the town had an estimated population of 1,500 spread over a total area of fifty-four square miles. The town contains the hamlets of Monterey and Pine Creek. Part of Lamoka Lake is within the town. Several archaeological finds were found around the lake. These findings were evidence of a hunting and gathering culture around 3500 BC in the Northeastern United States.

County Route 16 (Montour-Townsend Road) is the town’s main road. It runs from the south-west corner of town to the eastern town line. Extending from CR-16 is County Route 22 (CR-22). It runs north until the town’s northern boundary, but not before passing through Pine Creek.
