Otego is a town and village in Otsego County, New York. The village is within the town. For the most part, the area is rural and hilly., the village population was estimated at 950 and the town population was estimated at 3,000 (including the village). Otego is around fifty miles northeast of Binghamton and around ninety miles southwest of Albany.

Other local roads include Briar Creek Road (CR-5), County Highway 6 (CR-6), and County Highway 7 (CR-7).
