Paris is the name of a town in Oneida County, New York. It is part of the Central New York region., its population was estimated at 4,300. The town is ten miles south of Utica and covers approximately thirty-one and a half square miles. Paris was formed in 1792. The town was not named after the famous capital city in France, but instead after an early benefactor, Colonel Isaac Paris. The town is home to one village and several hamlets. The village is Clayville. The hamlets are Cassville, Greens Crossings, Paris Station, Richfield Junction and Sauquoit.
