Pulteney is a town in Steuben County, New York. It is part of the Finger Lakes region. The town rests on the west bank of Lake Keuka, one of the smaller Finger Lakes in the region., the town population was estimated at 1,350. Pulteney is north of the Town of Bath sixty-two miles southeast of the City of Rochester. The town covers just under thirty-six and a half square miles. The town’s formation occurred in 1808. Six hamlets make up the town. They are Catawba, Elmbois, Gibson Landing, Lakeside Park, Pulteney, and South Pulteney. A small but notable Amish community resides in Pulteney.
