Rhinebeck is a village in Dutchess County, New York. It is located on the eastern side of the Hudson River across the city of Kingston. New York City is approximately 100 miles to the south and Albany is approximately 60 miles north. The area is the Hudson Valley region. The village is within the Town of Rhinebeck., the village population was estimated at 2,900.

The Village of Rhinebeck has two main roads that intersect in the village center. Running north-south is US Route 9. It comes from the north via the Village of Red Hook. As US-9 enters the village it is named Spring Brook Avenue. After a bit it is renamed Montgomery Street. After it crosses Market Street the name changes again to Mill Street. Route 9 exits the village to the south in the direction of Hyde Park. From the west comes Rhinecliff Road. When it enters the village, it is named West Market Street. After it crosses US-9 it is named East Mark Street and becomes New York State Route 308. The road then leaves the village to the east in the direction of Milan.
Most traffic stops in the village occur on these main roads. Citations can be issued by Rhinebeck Village Police, Dutchess County Sheriff’s office, or New York State Police. All moving violations are adjudicated in the Village of Rhinebeck Justice Court (Rhinebeck Village Court). This court should not be confused with the Rhinebeck Town Court.
