Roseboom is the name of a rural town in Otsego County, New York. It is located approximately 30 miles northeast of the small city of Oneonta, approximately 45 miles southeast of the medium-sized city of Utica, and approximately 65 miles west of the large city of Albany. There are several hamlets that make up the town. They are named Center Valley, Pleasant Brook, Roseboom (formerly “Lodi”) and South Valley., the town had an estimated 750 residents spread over more than thirty-three square miles. The town was named after two early settlers, brothers with the last name Rosenboom.
