Sempronius, New York
Sempronius (pronounced sem-PRO-nee-iSS) is a rural town in Cayuga County, New York. The town was named after a nobleman and military leader of Ancient Rome. Many towns in this area were named after Roman officials.
Sempronius is part of the Finger Lakes region. The City of Syracuse is around 40 miles north. Smaller cities of Ithaca, Cortland, and Auburn are a bit closer. The town covers a total area of about thirty square miles and has a population of around 800 (). Most of Sempronius is farmland.

New York State Route 41A (NYS-41A) is the town’s main road. It runs north and south through Sempronius. In the northwest part of town NYS-41A meets County Route 63B (CR-63B). This road approaches from the west. In the south part of town, right before reaching the town border, NYS-41A meets County Route 60 (CR-60). CR-60 runs east and west, leading motorists to County Route 62A (CR-62A), which serves the southwest corner of town.
