Traffic Tickets in Troupsburg
Most of the violations in Troupsburg come from New York State Route 36 (NYS-36). The NYS-36 runs north-south through town and crosses over the Pennsylvania State line. A large portion of tickets are issued to out of state motorists for speeding when they enter New York State. Drivers from out of state are often unfamiliar with New York’s traffic laws. The one they should be mindful of the most is the state speed limit. In New York, the speed limit does not exceed 55 miles per hour unless otherwise posted. On average, New York State has a lower speed limit on average than Pennsylvania. This causes frustration and unintentional speeding as motorists from Pennsylvania visit New York.
Traffic stops can be conducted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office or the New York State Police. All tickets issued within the town boundaries are adjudicated by the Town of Troupsburg Justice Court (Troupsburg Town Court). If you received a ticket for speeding, it is probably imperative that you speak with a dedicated traffic ticket attorney. The Benjamin Goldman Law Office employs such attorneys that can help, even if you are not from New York.
