Taking it north from Ulysses will bring you to the Town of Covert. The Village of Trumansburg is located along NYS-96. It is the villages’ main road, and where most traffic stops occur. Speeding tickets are usually issued near the village boundary due to the difference in speed between the town and village.

Some other roads worth mentioning are County Route 1 (Searsburg Road), County Route 136 (Waterburg Road), County Route 142 (Perry City Road), County Route 148 (Falls Road), and New York State Route 89 (Taughannock Boulevard). County Route 1, County Route 136, and County Route 148 head towards Trumansburg. NYS-89 runs north-south along Cayuga Lake in the eastern part of town.
