Volney is a town in Oswego County, New York. The town was established in 1806 and named after a French writer who was touring the region at that time. Volney is just east of the small City of Fulton and approximately thirty miles north of Syracuse. It is considered part of the Central New York region., its population was estimated at 5,500. The town encompasses the hamlets of Bundy Crossing, Drakes Corner, Farley Corners, Ingalls Crossing, North Volney, and Volney. Volney is also home to the Oswego County Airport.
