Warwick is a large town in Orange County, New York. It is located approximately fifty miles north-west of Midtown Manhattan and rests on the northern New Jersey state line. Warwick covers 104 square miles and encompasses three villages: Florida, Greenwood Lake, and Warwick. There are also eight hamlets: Amity, Bellvale, Edenville, Greenwood Forest Farms, Little York, New Milford, Pine Island, and Sterling Forest., the total combined town population was estimated at 32,000.
Warwick was settled in the early 1700’s and officially formed as a town in 1788. Several notable events during the Revolutionary War took place in Warwick. In the 1800’s a freight line ran through Orange County and stopped in Warwick, leading to the economic growth of the town.

Most traffic stops in Warwick occur on the town’s busiest roads, such as New York State Route 94 and New York State Route 17A. NYS-94 runs north-east and south-west. It passes through the village of Warwick near the center of town, and the village of Florida in the north corner. NYS-17A extends from NYS-94 in the village, and heads east until it leaves the town. NYS-17A is Greenwood Lake’s primary road. The Warwick Police Department acts as the primary law enforcement agency in the town. Town police officers issue most traffic tickets. Traffic stops can also be conducted by New York State Police.
There are four justice courts in the town of Warwick, the Warwick Town Court, Warwick Village Court, Florida Village Court, and Greenwood Lake Village Court.
