Freeville is considered part of the Finger Lakes region and is approximately ten miles northeast of Ithaca and approximately ten miles southwest of Cortland. Freeville consists of two main roads and several side streets. The main roads meet in the middle of the village. Heading northwest and southeast is New York State Route 38 (Railroad Street).
