Mentz is a town in Cayuga County, New York. It is part of the Finger Lakes region and is approximately thirty miles west of Syracuse. The Seneca River/Erie Canal forms the northern town line. Within Mentz, is the Village of Port Byron. It is the main population area of the town. It is also the location of most businesses and town offices.
