Meredith, New York
Meredith is a town in Delaware County, New York. The town is in a rural area of Upstate New York, around 70 miles northeast of Binghamton and around 90 miles southwest of Albany., the town population was estimated at 1,450. The town of Meredith was formed in 1800 and named after Samuel Meredith, a Pennsylvanian delegate to the Continental Congress from 1786 to 1788. He was appointed Treasurer of the United States by George Washington. He served from 1789 until 1801. Meredith covers approximately fifty-eight square miles. There are three hamlets in Meredith. They are East Meredith, Meridale and Meredith Square.

East Meredith is located in the north-east corner of town. It is accessible by County Route 10 (Meridale-Davenport Center Road). CR-10 terminates as it meets NYS-28 halfway between Meridale and Meredith. The remaining town area is served by smaller local roads.
