Oswego is a town in Oswego County, New York. The town is located on the Lake Ontario shore approximately forty miles northwest of Syracuse. Just east of the town is the City of Oswego. The town is larger but the city is more populated. The town encompasses the hamlets of Fruit Valley, Furniss, Oswego Beach, Oswego Center, and Southwest Oswego. , the total town population was estimated at 7,750.

It comes into the northeastern corner of the town via the City of Oswego and then turns southwest before straightening out and going directly south until it exits the town. All traffic tickets issued in the town are adjudicated in the Town of Oswego Justice Court (Oswego Town Court). This course should not be confused with the Oswego City Court.
