The Town of Owego Justice Court (Owego Town Court) handles many traffic violations. This is because of the Southern Tier Expressway (I-86/NYS-17) that crosses east-west through the entire town. Many traffic stops are conducted on the highway as it goes through the town. The I-86 is patrolled exclusively by Troop “C” of the New York State Police.
