Candor is the name of a town in Tioga County, New York. The origin of the name is unknown. Candor is part of the Southern Tier region and is located around thirty miles northwest of the City of Binghamton. Within the town is a Village of Candor. It is in the center of the town and is the town’s main population area. The town also encompasses the hamlets of Catatonk, Fairfield, Upper Fairfield, Weltonville, and Willseyville. , the town population was estimated at 5,100.
