Harriman is a village in Orange County, New York. The village is located approximately fifty miles northwest of Manhattan and the area is considered part of the Hudson Valley region. Harriman is a village of the Town of Monroe., the population was estimated at 2,800. Harriman covers one square mile. The village is named after the former president of the Union Pacific Railroad, E.H. Harriman. Prior to receiving its current name, the village was named “Turner”.
