Pompey is a town in Onondaga County, New York. It is part of the Central New York region and is approximately fifteen miles southeast of downtown Syracuse. The town was named after the Roman General, Pompey. The town covers a total area of sixty-six square miles. It encompasses the hamlets of Buellville, Clough Corners, Delphi Falls, Jerome Corner, Oran, Pompey, Pompey Center, Salem Corner, Swift Corner, and Watervale. , it was home to a population of approximately 7,000.

US-Route 20 (US-20) is the town’s main road. It runs east and west through the center of town. Taking US-20 eastbound brings you to the town of Cazenovia. Taking it west brings you to the town of LaFayette. Two large roads run north and south in Pompey. They both intersect US-20. The west side of town is served by County Route 109 (CR-109). The east is served by County Route 10 (CR-10). Taking CR-10 north will bring you to Manlius. Traffic patrol in Pompey is conducted by the New York State Police and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department. The town does not have a dedicated police department. Any ticket issued in Pompey will be made answerable to the Pompey Town Court (Town of Pompey Justice Court). This court handles all types of traffic infractions.
