Ulster County is a county in upstate New York. It is part of the Hudson Valley region, located on the western side of the Hudson River. The northern border of the county is around forty miles south of Albany. The southern border of the county is around seventy miles north of Times Square, New York City., the county’s population was approximately 180,000. Most residents live in the towns on the eastern side of the county that abut the Hudson River. The western part of the county is mostly uninhabited forestland of the Catskill Mountains.
